How to differentiate Chica & Pumuckl

Quite a few of the commentators yesterday said it wasn't easy to differentiate Chica and Pumuckl and to determine who is who. Well, seeing them just from far I also have problems sometimes, especially if I don't wear my glasses, but when they are near I can say who is who.

Although they are looking like twins which I still find amazing with a mother cat and her only kitty, everyone of them has their own special characteristics:

1. Pumuckl is much smaller. I can lift him up and carry him around only with one hand, for Chica I need 2 hands. Well, this is something which is not so clear in photos, but I am just telling you.

2. Pumuckl still looks like a baby. Chica's face is more distinctive. Well, she is older, wiser and even a Mommy already - you can see this is her face.

3. Pumuckl's eyes are bigger. He always opens them very wide.

4. Chica has this big black spot on her lips which you can see on portrait pictures.

5. The most significant difference is Pumuckl's white paw. Chica doesn't have this. If I cannot see from far who is who I am just searching for something white and I'll know. This will also help you in most of the photos as he loves to show it off.

6. Pumuckl's voice is definitely totally different. And again: He is still a baby. With a baby voice. While Chica is really making Meows Pumuckl is talking with high voice. Maybe I should try to capture an audio again.

7. Pumuckl sometimes wears a collar (like these days), Chica never. She would never accept about such strange things like a collar.

With these small notes it should be easier now to see who is who :-) And if not, just hover over the pics, I always write it :-)

We got our 3rd Arte y Pico Award!

Our lovely friend Luxor has passed us this award. That's so nice of you, Luxie, and we feel very honored. Especially because we have received it from 3 people already!

Btw, we have a special award wall in our awards room here, where we show off all our nice awardies!

And also over at Luxor's blog I found this really cool family sticker at Pyzam! If you always wanted to know how we look like, that's our little family (haha :-):

Thank you for the "tell apart" lesson! That should help. Pretty bad when a sister can't tell her sister from her mom. teeheehee!

Very useful tips! Mommy always has to explain the differences between the tortie twins, because they do look so much alike.

Very helpful. I did wonder how to tell them apart.

Ana, you solved my long weeks confusion with this article, I always wondered how you can distinguish the cuties, but indeed, Chica looks so wise and "mommy-like" while Pumuckl is a young little boy.

(Funny, because visiting your blog is my first thing when I have some spare minutes during the day, I am amazed on the pictures, and read your posts, then usually I forgot to drop on you - EC's feature about cards you haven't drop is a good thing :D)

i'll admit i've sometimes have difficulty telling chica and pumuckl apart in some of the pictures because the easiest way I've found to do so is the difference in their sizes. this posting was helpful...
